Favorite Illustrators 2009
Time to make room for more childrens' book illustrators. Many of these on the 2009 list are my all-time favorites. Tasha Tudor, Anita Lobel and Suzy Spafford remind me of my childhood. But it's also so much fun to discover someone else! Christopher Wormell wins my new favorite illustrator for 2009 (not that it's a competition!).

I used to see the same program on Japanese TV all the time about Tasha Tudor's life and I watched it every time it was on---her gardens were so lush and I felt so peaceful just seeing her interviewed in her home setting. I had never heard of her until I went to Japan, interestingly enough!
