Sewing Doodler?

So in a temporary moment of insanity, I thought I'd crochet a couple more hostess gifts a little bit before we go on vacation.  The Nordstrom Hobo bag looked cute and relatively simple.  Crocheting it was relatively simple and fast.

But then there's the lining.  The cuteness of this bag hinges on the contrasting lining (sparkly lining too!).  The problem with the lining is it's a sewing project.  I try to avoid sewing at all costs except for personal projects that don't leave my house.  Nevertheless, the directions looked simple and it basically was simple.  Just never mind the fact I can't sew in a straight line (okay it's probably not the best fabric for a non-sewer)!  That's why I'm The Crochetdoodler NOT The Sewingdoodler!

From a distance the bag looks super-cute.  Just don't look at the stitching.  Oh yeah, after one of these I quit!

P.S.  If any one ever wants to sew linings for me I'd be happy to do the crochet.

I have this really cute sushi wallet I knit about 3 years ago. It's sitting in my "to do" basket, all finished except the zipper that needs to be sew on! I just can't bear to suffer through the sewing.

PS- In case your hubby doesn't pass this on- there was much oohing and aahing over your blanket today and much discussion about what a great crocheter you are. And everything else was fabulous too- feel better soon!

Cammie - Get your sewing needle out and finish the wallet! If I can do it, so (or sew) can you!!!
