It's always fun to find new children's books and I like to acknowledge the illustrators who bring the books to life. Tim Ladwig stands out as someone who brings meaning and insight to the urban setting. Funny enough, his book, Jubilee, was what made the Little Tomato somewhat excited about eating corn (I think it will be awhile before she's really excited about any vegetable). She calls it, "Jubilee corn."
