The Lone Bootie

Since I've been doing so many blankets I thought baby booties might be a good alternative gift, especially since I don't have much time to make something.  I found a cute pattern in one of my Japanese books.  Although the diagrams are really good, understanding Japanese would help with nuances of the pattern.  It took several tries, especially with the flower and it turned out alright, but not really good enough to give away.  Maybe someday I'll make its pair and it will warm baby toes.  Oh well, I tried.

Pattern: ? - can't read Japanese - comes from Mama & Grandmama Knit for Baby by Yokota & Co.
Yarn: Bernat Satin Sport Rouge and a Red Heart Yarn
Hook: 3.25 mm
Lessons Learned: popcorn stitch, reading Japanese diagrams, I don't really like crocheting baby booties
