The Little Tomato's birthday marks an end to all the birthday crochet projects. An adorable sweater on the Lion Brand site caught my eye because of the rows of puff stitches. Whenever I look at stitch books my eye is drawn to the bobbles and puffs. I guess I find the texture intriguing. The stitch worked up quickly and looks so complicated.
The project languished for awhile. I felt badly that I push to finish other kids' projects but not for the Little Tomato. So, this past week has been a scramble to get it done. It helped that I scheduled a pedicure allowing for an hour of uninterrupted crocheting (result is the yellow sleeve).
I'm always amazed that my garments are wearable. The seams could have turned out better and unfortunately it's too thick to turn inside out. Nevertheless, the sweater is cute and should keep the Little Tomato very warm this winter.
I also want to do another amigurumi for her birthday, but ran out of time. Maybe I'll whip one up next week. Happy first birthday Little Tomato!
